The Secretariat of the Multilateral Fund for the Implementation of the Montreal Protocol is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified independent consultants (whether individuals, groups or organisations) in undertaking a study on the use of alternatives to CFCs in the manufacture of rigid polyurethane foams in developing countries.

Terms of reference for the study can be found on the web-site of the Secretariat at www.unmfs.org.

Registrations of interest must be lodged with the Secretariat (in hard copy) by 30 October 2000 and must contain:

  • evidence of substantial experience in conducting economic evaluations at the individual enterprise level and in the technical aspects of conversion of rigid polyurethane foam production to non-CFC technologies
  • indications of a proposed approach to the study and a cost structure and duration, based on the terms of reference
  • qualifications and CVs of proposed team members.

Following an evaluation, a short list of registrants will be invited to submit tenders for the study, which is planned for completion in the first quarter of 2001.
